Jacoby Jones, former HBCU and NFL great wide receiver is headed to the hall of fame of one of the most historic conferences in HBCU sports. The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) was founded in 1913. The SIAC Hall of Fame was established to preserve the esteemed history of the conference. Since its inception in 1992, the SIAC Hall of Fame has inducted 161 distinguished honorees.

Jones, a New Orleans East native came to Lane College in 2003 and was an All-SIAC) player at wide receiver and returner for all four years at the Jackson, Tennessee-based HBCU.

The Houston Texans drafted Jones in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played for the Texans from 2007 to 2011. He moved on to play for the Baltimore Ravens from 2012 to 2014 and was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2012.
