In honor of Thanksgiving being right around the corner, I thought I would keep that “GIVING” theme going. Let’s talk about the importance of GIVING THANKS. It’s important to thank God in everything and for everything, for He is the foundation for it all. Your level of Thanksgiving is rooted in the level of your belief in God and the faith that you have in Him. Thanksgiving is acknowledging to yourself and others, privately and publicly, that you know that whatever you are thankful for didn’t happen because of you alone. There was a high power orchestrating your path. The things you are thankful for come from the blessings of God. Blessings qualify us for the inheritance of God. Blessings deliver us from evil. Blessings transfer us into the Kingdom of God and one of our biggest Blessings is God forgives us! PRAISE THE LORD!
We should give thanks because it honors God and the Bible tells us to give thanks. One of many examples is Psalms 100:4 and it reads, “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” These past few years, our country, and our world, have been turned upside down and the greatest weapon against turbulent times is THANKSGIVING. If you are still breathing, only the grace and mercy of God has brought you to this point and you should GIVE THANKS.
So this Thanksgiving, don’t just feast on turkey with all the fixings, sides, deserts, football, family and friends. Feast on what you are thankful for. Thanksgiving is about giving thanks and giving credit to whom all blessings flow, and that’s God! So remember, Thanksgiving is not just about one day a year. It’s about giving thanks 365 days a year. God blesses us everyday, so we should GIVE THANKS EVERYDAY!
