FELLOWSHIP is friendly association with people who share the same interests. The word FELLOWSHIP is derived from the Greek word “koinonia.” Koinonia can be defined as “holding something in common” and is specifically used 20 times in the New Testament.
Fellowship can be done in group settings like in homes, churches, on zooms where the common denomination is God. Fellowship is not just about being in the presence of likeminded people and God. It’s an opportunity to learn more about God together, to grow our faith together, to sing and pray together, and to witness to one another about the goodness of God. Fellowship is a biblical command. Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, and if we’re truly children of God who love Him, we will obey this instruction.
Now, fellowship with God does not have to include a gazillion people. It can just be two people. Matthew 18:20 reads, “Where there are two or three gathered in my name, there I am also.” Least not forget about the most important fellowship, and that is your fellowship with God, just you and Him, one-on-one.
How does this happen? Start each day by sitting still before God, praying to Him, worship Him for THE BOSS that He is, in charge of you and how your day is going to flow. So don’t just jump out of bed and start your day without acknowledging Him like you are running your life. If you do, you may not like the end results. I’m just say’in, it would be in your best interest if you take the time to fellowship with Him every morning.
FELLOWSHIP is working together with others and God to accomplish His mission to spread the Gospel, by whatever means necessary and for us to be there for one another, as He is there for us!
