In the Christian World, there is what we call a SPIRITUAL CALLING. That’s when you feel so connected to your life’s work, you know that connection had to have come from God and the Calling that He has on your life. Your Calling is usually closely tied to something you love and enjoy, so if you are operating in a space and you are not happy, that is probably not your Calling.
Signs you are operating in your calling include: Your actions matching your plans, you get so caught up in your work that you lose track of time, you are passionate about what you are doing, or when you have a vision and set goals for your works. Now, knowing what your Calling is may not be immediate. It may be a process and could take years for it to come to fruition for you. But know that it is going to happen because God has a Calling and a Purpose for everyone. You will have that “aha moment,” that “light bulb moment,” that “epiphany moment,” when you will know exactly what your Calling is. God WILL confirm your Calling and it may be something you are already doing and have been doing for years.
You see, your Calling is derived from your talents and gifts God has given you, so you could be operating in your Calling and not even realize it. Once you do realize it though, God will not let you forget it. You are stuck with that Calling for life.
Romans 11:29 says, “For the gifts and The Calling of God are irrevocable.” So buckle up for the ride. If you are looking for your Calling, here are a few suggestions: First and foremost, have a little talk with Jesus; second, don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. Your Calling could lie in the perimeters; third, pay attention to your dreams and coincidences, for clarification can come when you least expect it and in an unconventional way; and fourth, evaluate what you are already doing, for your Calling may have already arrived. Just remember that Callings come from God, and His will is for us to use them not only for our own edification, but to be a Blessing to others!
