What is PEACE? The definition of PEACE is “free from disturbance, tranquility, quietness, etc.” Now, “Peace” and “Peace of God” are not necessarily the same thing. Peace OF God is having peace in the midst of your turmoil. In John 16:33, Jesus tells his disciples, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.” He is saying, “no worries, because it’s going to be alright regardless of the circumstances. I took care of that when I gave my life for your present and future transgressions and sins.”
The Peace Of God is a gift to us. In John 14:27, Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” Now, God is a God of “FREE WILL.” He will never force you to take His peace. It is your choice. Peace is not something you can create. It is something God provides us if we are willing to trust Him and keep our minds fixed on Him and His word.
Other things we can do to obtain God’s peace is to pray and focus on scriptures about the Peace Of God, and there are many. Also, you have to remember that God is good all the time, and all the time God is good, keep the faith and remember God is faithful, ask for wisdom and depend on God’s wisdom (follow His lead), have agape love, believe nothing is impossible for those who believe God, cast your cares upon Him, and constantly thank Him for what He has done, is doing and will do in the future for you.
All of that will secure the Peace Of God for you and in you. The Peace Of God is knowing that God is by your side, no matter what. He is truly your “ride or die.”
With Agape Love,
