I am sure most of you have heard the phrase, “RAM IN THE BUSH.” For those of you who may not know its origin, it’s from a Bible scripture. Genesis 22:13 reads, “Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in the bush by its horns. He went over and took the ram and scarified it as a burnt offer, instead of his son.” As the biblical story goes, God told Abraham to sacrifice his only child, Isaac on the altar. This was God’s way of testing Abraham’s faith in Him. So Abraham took his son, went up in the mountains with wood and a knife. He built an altar and had his son lay down on the stack of wood. Abraham put his head down, with knife in hand, and was prepared to kill, sacrifice his only son for God. Then he heard the angel of the Lord call out from Heaven and say, “Abraham…Abraham do not lay a hand on the boy. You passed the test!”…that’s a paraphrase.
That’s when Abraham looked up saw the ram and sacrificed the ram instead of his son and God blessed him and his descendants tremendously throughout the years. The moral of the story is God ALWAYS has a RAM IN THE BUSH for you, as long as we are obedient to Him, His word and keep the FAITH in Him.
When it seems like obedience is not possible, God WILL supply that ram in bush. When you have exhausted all of your resources, look for the ram in the bush, when it looks like that vision He gave you is not going to happen, God WILL supply that ram in the bush, because He will not give you a VISION without PROVISION. When you feel like you are at the lowest point in your life, hang in there because He will pull you up through that ram in the bush!
The legendary singer, Diana Ross, sang a song years ago and a portion of the lyrics hold true when it comes to God. “Ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough, ain’t no river wide enough,” to keep God from getting to you! If you stick with God, by God, for God and keep the faith, no matter what you are going through, you will never be out of His reach. Just lift up your eyes and look behind you. There you’ll see your RAM IN THE BUSH!
