What does it mean to have a spiritual calling on your life? Our first calling is to have a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. After that, our calling is an occupation or way of life that you believe comes from God. You can find your calling by reading the bible. Something in the scriptures may trigger you to know what your calling is. You may also find your calling by praying to God and asking Him to tell you what your calling is for He already knows. He said so in Jeremiah 29:11 which reads, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Finding your calling may involve some inner soul-searching. Ask yourself, “what am I passionate about?” “What gifts have God given me?” “Where do I have the greatest opportunity to show love and help others.” Fulfilling your calling is more than just a job…its fulfilling your God-given purpose. Now there is a difference between your calling and your purpose. You purpose is general. Your calling is much more specific. It’s like your fingerprint…designed just for you. Your purpose is the destination and you get there by using the tools of your calling. A calling is a path in life that you feel compelled or meant to do. It is a burning desire for the good that you can’t shake and it is so strong that you know in your heart that it is something your were meant to do. Sometimes the things you are afraid to do are the things you are called to do. Don’t be “scurred” lol! God has given you a mission to accomplish. Embrace it and know that He will be right there with you ever step of the way. Your calling will lead to your purpose…and your purpose will lead to…your destiny.
