When we talk about being in God’s presence, we know He is with us 24/7. Psalm 84:10 reads, “A day in your court is better than a thousand elsewhere.” This means that being in God’s presence is better than being ANYWHERE else. Don’t you want that kind of presence in your life? I’m just asking. It’s a feeling of closeness and contentment, realizing and knowing His power, wisdom and His Love and just wallowing in all of that.
Dwelling in God’s presence is your pathway to JOY. Psalm 16:11 reads, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is a fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forever.” We can find the fulness of JOY in God’s presence. Psalm 140:13 says, “Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in your presence.” What this scripture is saying is that you have to come correct to reside in God’s presence and He will Bless you for that. But if you have a lot of drama or disobedience going on in your life, you will be blocking your blessings because you can’t fully reside in God’s presence with all of that going on and God doesn’t bless mess. You will become more aware of God’s presence when you are able to become more obedient to Him and His word.
You may ask, “How do I know if I am in God’s presence?” Some people can hear his quiet voice. Some people can feel an indescribable peace, joy and happiness. Sometimes it’s just when you know that you know that you know. You may also be wondering how do I get into His presence? Simple: Choose Him. Turn to Him, through daily prayers, carefully reading the bible for comprehension. Don’t just breeze through it. Read it for true understanding. Talk to God. Express your gratitude, seek guidance from Him, tell Him all about your troubles.
God is your daddy and you are his child and He is just waiting for you to crawl up into his lap and be in His presence. Once you decide to give your life to Christ, that ignites the process for you to be IN GOD’S PRESENCE.
