Have you heard of God’s timing? Do you know what it means? Well, let me start off by telling you what it is not. It is not our time clock. We are not running nothing (anything). The Bible says that God’s timing is flawless, filled with purpose, so much better than anything we can come up with and His timing will roll out when He wants it to, not according to any schedule we plan.
Now, we are supposed to write the vision and make it plan (Habakkuk 2:2), but then Habakkuk 2:3 assures us that it’s going to happen. Just be patient and wait and it won’t be delayed. It will be right on time. That means that you may be in a holding pattern until God’s perfect time arrives. Use that time period to build your faith, character and prepare yourself for what is to come. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reads, “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the Heaven.” So if you mess around and try to get ahead of God and the assigned “season” for the plan, you will find yourself very frustrated and mad because you don’t want to wait. WAIT. That is the key word here. You have to be patient and WAIT on God’s timing.
One of the most popular versus in the Bible pertaining to waiting is Psalm 27:14: “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” But one of my favorite scriptures encouraging us to wait on God’s timing is Isaiah 40:31: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
You know, we’re human and it’s tempting to want to not wait on God when our plans are not happening the way we want them to or as quickly as we want them to. But don’t do it. Don’t jump the gun, because we only have a partial view of what’s going on. God sees the big picture and He is working on things behind the scenes on your behalf, smoothing out rough roads and setting people up in your path who are going to help you with the plan. So just wait. Wait on God’s season, His plan, His purpose and His timing for you and your destiny. Trust me. It will be worth the wait.
